Bio: Katrin Puetz’s foray into biogas started in 2010 when she did research in Ethiopia. She came across biogas systems in the country that were not functional and hard to access for most of the population due to a missing business model. She then invented the biogas backpack that allows the low-tech transport and sale of biogas.
She has since devised a business model that empowers distributors, installers, entrepreneurs and the end user thanks to a versatile support structure that allows everyone in the value chain to lean on each other.
As the company CEO, she continues to set the course for aid-free biogas on the African continent.
