Bio: Fernando Giachini Lopes is the Executive Director and founder of Instituto Totum, a certification body responsible for the Brazilian Renewable Energy Certification Program (since 2012) and Local Issuer of the IREC Standard (since 2016). At Instituto Totum, Fernando is also responsible for the design, development, and management of various self-regulation programs in the fields of energy, safety, food, and financial services. Before Instituto Totum, Fernando was responsible for auditing and consulting services in the areas of ISO 9000, ISO 14000, CDM, DJSI, and GRI in more than 150 different organizations. Fernando is an Engineer and holds a Master’s degree in Production Engineering from USP. He also has a specialization in Quality Management from the University of Tennessee and was chosen as one of the 100 most influential people in the energy sector in 2018.
