Bio: Mike Platt is the Managing Director of ALPS Ecoscience. He is a chemical engineer who has worked in industrial and commercial water treatment, environmental services, and bioenergy. As well as founding ALPS, he grew and sold a successful managed service business to a global enterprise. It is Mike’s passion for sustainability and his pioneering spirit that has led ALPS into developing innovative biological solutions in waste management and bioenergy production. The latest invention, SMASH, incorporates multi-stage anaerobic digestion to increase biogas conversion efficiency whilst extracting biological hydrogen. Mike will share insights on the innovation journey and the opportunities for the biogas industry to optimise and increase output as well as diversify its feedstocks and fuel production portfolios.
